(NEW YORK DAILY NEWS) Mayor de Blasio announced plans for a new health center in Flushing Tuesday, as he took more shots at Republicans’ push to repeal Obamacare.
The $65 million clinic, known as Healthview, is expected to care for 25,000 patients, with doctors speaking Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean.
“The contrast to what’s happened in Washington, D.C. these past few weeks is so stark,” de Blasio said, warning that despite the collapse this week of a bill in the Senate, the health-care law that insures 1.6 million New Yorkers remains under threat. “This ball game ain’t over.”
The new clinic is expected to break ground in the fall at College Point Boulevard and 40th Road and will be run by the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center, which has another facility in the area.
