One Fulton Square offers unique outdoor dining experience Read more: Queens Ledger – One Fulton Square offers unique outdoor dining experience

by Sara Krevoy

One Fulton Square has been a strong influence in the redevelopment of Downtown Flushing, so it’s no surprise that the 330,000 square-foot commercial plaza is proving to be an innovative player in the neighborhood’s outdoor dining scene.

Diners are welcomed to the property’s private square or terrace, and invited to sink their teeth into a diverse showcase of flavors al fresco– from Szechuan cuisine to Malaysian fare to Korean fried chicken and beyond.

In an effort to establish a safe outdoor dining experience, One Fulton Square has been assisting its tenants to facilitate protective measures such as the use of disposable utensils, installing hand sanitizer stations and creating a contactless order and payment system with QR code menus.

A roster of summer entertainment programs is also featured, including a weekend DJ night at Spot Dessert Bar and live music performances at seafood barbeque joint Hope to See You.

“We are excited to see customers come back to support our business and we are taking precautions very seriously to protect our customers and employees,” said Mark Lee, co-owner of Spot Dessert Bar, a sweet-inclined cafe that has served the community for more than four years. “It’s a new business opportunity we never would have had if there’s no outdoor dining.”

Visitors to One Fulton Square can also enjoy a hair salon, spa, cosmetic store and jewelry store within the complex.

Take a look at what’s on the menu at One Fulton Square:

Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao

This Flushing mainstay quickly gained popularity when it opened its doors nearly 15 years ago. The eatery’s current location at One Fulton Plaza began operating last fall. The restaurant is known for its crab and pork “Xiao long bao,” also known as soup dumplings, as well as steamed buns and Shanghainese dim sum. Pictured to the left, the ‘Lucky Six Soup Dumplings’ are as colorful as they are full of flavor.

The Coop

A great hangout spot for friends and family wanting some fresh air and good eats, The Coop serves up savory-sweet Korean-style fried chicken, as well as traditional dishes like Bulgogi, Japchae and Spicy Rice Cakes.

Szechwan Absolute

From deep-fried beef with crispy rice and dry red pepper to braised pork with chestnuts, diners say Szechwan Absolute serves the most authentic Szechwan cuisine. The restaurant’s creative cocktails and newly renovated pink interior design are the cherry on top of a satisfying meal — like the colossal crab pictured to the left.

Hope To See You

“Hope To See You” Restaurant & Bar serves specialty spicy Cajun seafood, Chinese-style skewers and braised appetizers alongside live music each night. Home-made desserts are also available during afternoon teatime.

PappaRich

The character of Malaysian cuisine is a reflection of the nation’s identity: locally sourced herbs and spices combined with varied cooking styles inspired by the cultures that comprise it. With more than 200 varieties on the menu, PappaRich each dish creates a unique explosion of flavors suitable for diverse palates.

Iki Modern Japanese Cuisine

A contemporary Japanese restaurant expert in Omakase, a meal consisting of chef-selected dishes, Iki offers fan favorites as well, including nigiri sushi, sashimi and tempura. All fish is imported fresh from Japan.

Jiang Nan Asian Fusion

Signature dishes at Jian Nan, like this Peking duck, blend the spice of Szechuan cooking with elements from other Chinese culinary influences for a flavor that is simultaneously innovative and nostalgic.

Experience all this, and more, at One Fulton Square (36-19 Prince Street), or order takeout/delivery by visiting onefultonsquareflushing.com.
